Institutum Iurisprudentiae at Academia Sinica, a leading research institute of law in Taiwan as well as in East Asia, invites applications for two tenured or tenure-track positions as research professor/associate research professor/assistant research professor. One position is reserved for those who specialize in intellectual property law or legal developments in China, Hong Kong, and Macau. The other position is open to candidates across the following six fields of legal studies:

(1) Law, Science, and Technology;
(2) Legal Developments in China, Hong Kong, and Macau;
(3) Empirical Legal Studies on Judicial Systems and Judicial Behaviors;
(4) Constitutional Structure and Individual Rights;
(5) Administrative Regulation and Judicial Remedies;
(6) Jurisprudence and Social Change.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates should have a doctoral degree in law or in other adjacent disciplines (or can expect to receive her/his doctorate degree before February 28, 2019 and have a completed dissertation and/or book chapters ready for external review.)

APPLICATION PROCEDURE: Interested applicants should submit the following application materials: (1) curriculum vitae; (2) a list of academic publications within the past five years; (3) a research agenda and a summary of previous research; (4) up to 3 representative articles, book chapters, or books published within the past five years; (5) a printed copy of doctoral diploma (those who have not yet received doctorates should submit instead a letter from the school administration or from the dissertation supervisor affirming that the applicant will receive doctorate by February 28, 2019); (6) applicants who have received their doctorates less than five years ago should also enclose two letters of recommendation and copies of their diplomas and transcripts from their college and graduate programs.

In addition to mailing the paper copies to Institutum Iurisprudentiae, applicants should also send the aforementioned documents electronically via e-mail, CD/DVD, or by uploading to a shared space created by the applicant ( i.e. Dropbox, Google drive, etc. ) and sending a direct link to the secretary. Please submit documents (1), (2), and (3) in both Chinese and the applicant’s major working language. If the major working language is Chinese, submit documents in both Chinese and English.
